Mia Montoito

First things first: I am an endlessly curious and restless person.

As such, Photography has become a way for me to record and show others the way I see them. That usually means that I am the happiest having people as my subject matter, either in a journalist or artistic ambience.
Over time, the production of still images has directed my interest to complementary areas such as photo and video editing, as well as graphic design.

Because creating is not everything - and creativity makes the difference - I have focused my studies in courses that developed both.
A bachelor and masters in Multimedia Arts taught me to think beyond the obvious and to accept mistakes as amazing opportunities. Courses in Photojournalism and Photographic Workflow taught me to focus my ideas and views into better images. Courses in Online Portfolios and Instagram taught me how capture the viewers eye, and keep them engaged.

Professionally, these skills and interests have led me to work in several fields related to content creation such as television, product and fashion photography, graphic design and photo editing.
Because we can learn everywhere, I believe the people and places I’ve worked with so far have taught me invaluable lessons as well. Lessons such as how to manage people, teams and projects; how to collaborate and coordinate with other teams; to always think of the end user and client; that quality makes the difference; and that innovation and creativity come from thinking outside the box.

Coincidentally, I have also become passionate about teaching, having taught classes in photography, photo editing and project development.
Helping my students learn new skills and create their own projects has shown me a love and talent for mentoring and project guidance.
